I need a new project / goal / task / venture, whatever you want to call it. I need something fun to work at and accomplish in the present. Don't get me wrong, raising my children is rewarding in itself, but my personality LOVES a good challenge that includes planning, organizing, exploring... all tasks that I really really enjoy. Last month, it was planning our family vacation in October.
This will be good for Chloebear, too, so she doesn't die of boredom before summer gets here.

This month we're turning it up a notch. Drum roll please........ In what remains of the month of April we are going to do 100 different toddler activities! Here are my rules. Oh, and you are welcome to join along if you have young ones at home.
1. There is no limit to the number of activities that can be done each day. That's right, maybe you do five things, maybe it's zero. You've got 20 days remaining in April, so ration it out as you see fit.
2. There is no time limit to a single activity. We're talking about toddlers here. Focusing and sitting for long periods of time is not exactly a strong suit.
3. "Activities", for this purpose, shall henceforth be defined as anything physically or mentally stimulating, that your child enjoyed doing. This means nothing is too simple or complex, new or familiar. If you get a smile out of it, then it counts.
4. Not every activity has to be new. It just can only be counted once. For example, if Play Dough is a regular activity, it can go on the list once. But don't let that stop you from doing it everyday if that 's what you want to do. The point of the challenge is to see if 100 different activities is even possible in a 3 week time frame. Not to ignore a tried and true favorite because it's already on the list.
5. Movies, television shows, Iphone Apps, and the like DO NOT COUNT.
6. The activity cannot be added to the list until a photo has been taken to document it. I think this is a fun little twist on the challenge. So although it might be hard to snap a pic, it will be worth it in the end when we can look back on all the fun things that've been accomplished. And maybe it'll help offer a little validation that we are indeed awesome moms. Especially on those days when one questions their sanity and will power.
Are you ready to join me?! In spirit or with your own kids?! If so, please leave a comment with ideas and your blog address so I can follow along with you, as well.
GOOD LUCK!
