Summer with Family- Part 1

For the last part of July, we took a road trip out West to visit family. Our first stop - Utah Valley.

We had a picnic with the Shepherd side. Here's a picture of the girlies with Great Grandma Shepherd.

Although it was last minute and only a quick visit, we got to meet up with Mommy's cousin Alison and her family. Her two son's are only a few months apart from our two girls. How fun!

Daddy and the girls had a good time in the kiddie pool. This was a favorite place to cool off from the lovely Utah heat. Chloe loved pouring water on Daddy's head.

Mommy's birthday happened to be that week. She and Daddy got to have a morning date, complete with all you can eat french toast at Kneaders, and doing sealings for family names at the Provo temple.

And for dinner a bunch of us had Brick Oven Pizza. Mom was in birthday heaven with all the food and fun!

During the Spanish Fork Fiesta Days, we treated the girls to a concert in the park and some carnival rides.

And no Pioneer Day would be complete without a parade. Look at those vaulters balancing on horseback.

Chloe enjoying a chocolate doughnut (one of her favorite treats) while cozied up next to Great Grandma Smith.

More sweets at the parade. There was a lot of sugar consumed this trip.

Delilah spending quality time with Uncle Brady. He was a hero and saved her ears from the loud firetruck horn and siren.

Chloe wasn't about to let everyone have fun washing cars without her.

Delilah started pulling herself up onto furniture and walking four legged, Mowgli style. She grew leaps and bounds that week. It must've been all the extra lovin's she was getting.

The girls got to visit their Great Aunt Dalene's farm in Lake Shore.

And ride their second cousin's pony! Delilah loved it. She kept trying to climb off the saddle to play with the pony's mane.

Chloe loved the idea of riding the pony, until she actually got in the saddle. Then she wasn't so sure. But she was a good sport and didn't whine or try to get down while she road around.

They ended the night with a ride in the fun decorated barrels, pulled behind the four wheeler.

To end the Shepherd family visit, our last stop was Boise, ID where we visited two of Bryson's cousins. Andrea and her kids let us spend the night. Gracie and Chloe had a blast playing pretend that morning. Too bad we couldn't stay longer. Then we visited cousin Ashley and her brand new, one week old twin boys. I was sad we didn't get any pictures! They were adorable little guys.

We cherished every minute we got to spend in Utah. So many fun memories we made!
