MIckey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

This year we had a very special Halloween week. We were at Disney World!

Joined by Gramma, Papa, Uncle Nate, Aunt Laurel, and cousins "Leden" (the combined name Chloe has given Lydia and Eden), we had a super fun time escaping real life and enjoying the magic!

This was Bryson and my third time being at WDW in the month of October over the last few years, so we decided to splurge and finally experience the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. We'd heard rave reviews, but I was a little skeptical. How could an extra $68 per adult be worth 5 hours of exclusive Halloween fun, right? Well let me tell you, the parade alone was worth it. I LOVED the parade. Hands down my favorite. Ever. The characters interacted with us. The eerie music and lighting on Main Street. My absolute favorite was the corpse ballroom dancers; it was such amazing choreography. For the party, the four of us (ABC&D) dressed up as Alice in Wonderland characters. Bryson and I were Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. It was fun talking with some of the kids on the bus ride to the MK. "I'm Tweedle Dee. She is Tweedle Dum," Bryson would say. "NO. He's Tweedle Dum," I'd chime in. Hehehe. Chloe was an adorable Alice, with Delilah as her White Rabbit, complete with a furry vest, cotton tail and pocket watch. They were adorable.

The grandparents and grand daughters. Eden and Lydia joined us for the first couple hours.
They were adorable as Tinkerbell and Tiger Lilly.
Delilah was having a hard time at first. But Chloe sure is cute here!
Sisterly kindness.
And it worked. Kisses make everything better.
There were lots of trick or treat spots. We loaded up a total of 8 bags of awesome goodies. That was an equivalent of 3 gallon sized ziplocks, one for each family to take home. It may take a while for us to finish ours!

In addition to the candy, a benefit to the "Party" is the super short lines for the rides. We literally walked on every ride we did. Like Dumbo for instance (see below, Chloe with her flying buddy, Papa).

The parade, aka the best part of the night, is so popular they do two each night. We went to the second, later one because it was less crowded. But I kind of wish we had gone to both. LOL. I might be a little too obsessed with it right now.

The castle with it's spooky lighting. I loved the Jack Skeleton balloons they were selling. If only they weren't $8 a piece.

Delilah enjoyed herself during the parade. From the back of her eyelids.

So to summarize, Mickey's Not So Scary Party was awesome, with exclusive Halloween activities that you would not see otherwise, namely a special fireworks show, parade, villain show, dance parties, spooky lighting on mainstreet and the castle, short lines, CANDY, and last but not least, TONS of character meet and greets. I'll end the post with some pictures of us and the characters. This was an especially memorable night, as it was the first time Chloe didn't freak out when she got close to the characters. In fact, Chloe was so brave she HUGGED Minnie Mouse!!!! We were so proud!!

The whole group at Space Command with Buzz Lightyear.
To infinity, and beyond!
Despite Chloe warming up to the characters, she stayed distantly skeptic of Jafar.
Good call, ChloChlo. Good call.
Little D really loves her Disney. Literally, she kisses every single one of them.
Minnie loved the slobbery lovins.
Way to go Chloe! Minnie Mouse loves you too! Way to make history and give her a hug!
Some Halloween tricks!
Posing with Lotso. The biggest pink bear you will ever meet.
We hope you had a Happy, Not So Scary Halloween, too!
