May Is Already Over?

This month has flown by, and I haven't blogged anything since the the List of 100 Toddler Activities was completed. I can't decide if that's a good or bad thing. On the one hand, 100 Activities was so much fun that I was perfectly content with a mellow May to finish up projects. But on the other hand, because of the lack of blogging, I've got a lot of catching up to do now!
---------------------------------------------------------

May started with our weekend camping / Little Rock visit. That was a lot of fun for all four of us. Bryson had a birthday and we celebrated our 8th Anniversary.
We made it thru the night! But next time we'll bring the bigger tent. It can get a little cramped with a wiggly toddler.

Drip dry outside please
Our chicken laid the brown one.
The 2nd weekend we postponed our Anniversary Trip, and instead got some projects done around the yard and house. (I feel like the projects never end). While Daddy finished putting the capstones on our 2nd retaining wall, Chloe got to enjoy the warm weather in her pool.

Delilah turned 4 months old, so to celebrate, she tried her first jar of baby food. Squash was a hit! She kept trying to grab the spoon to feed herself. I see that as a good sign that she'll keep wanting to try new foods, and hopefully put some fat on those skinny bones.

We also got our first egg that week. Way to go chicken!
Nothing but smiles for squash

The third weekend we had a belated Birthday Adventure for Bryson, where we went on a float trip down 6 miles of the Illinois River in Oklahoma. With siblings and cousins in the same boat, of course there were lots of fun to be had. The best laugh was at the expense of Bryson's pride, as he fell out of the boat at the very end just as we were pulling into shore. He said a fish touched the foot he had dangling off the side of the raft, which spooked him. LOL. Poor guy, scared by a bass.

Happy Memorial Day
The Dazzling D's - Delilah and Daniel
Memorial Day weekend we just chilled, which was really nice. I got to go strawberry picking, and Bryson  took a couple of good long naps with baby D snuggled next to him.

Bryson had to work on Monday, so it didn't really feel like a holiday, except for the BBQ at our friends house. It's ok though, he's trading the holiday for a day off while his sister is in town. So it'll be totally worth it.

For the fifth and final weekend in May, we tried out some redneck fun and went to the Monster Truck Rally! We've never been to anything like that before, and were super excited to try something new. It was a lot of fun, watching the big and small trucks racing and doing tricks. They popped some wheelies, flew off the ramps, and even crushed some cars.

I'm glad we are finding fun unique things to do for our summer this year. As an adult summers can seem so tedious and unfair when you have to work indoors all day everyday. But with Mommy being home with the girls during the week now, we made a deal to enjoy our weekends with Daddy as much as possible.
