Two Stories

Story One- Awesome Deals

We love garage sales.

We especially love neighborhood garage sales.

Yesterday we $58.50 at 5 homes, and this is what we got for "little miss" Shepherd:
Most of these things we could've lived without for practicality/frugality sake. But with these prices and quality, it was hard to say "no". No way would we have ever paid full price for brand new, so we feel awesome about these deals.

1  Changing Table (with pad and covers). $35

2  Two wall shelves, a book, and one of those wood things with knobs you hang stuff from. $3

3  Crib sheet and liner, and a bunch of burp clothes, swaddling blankets, etc. We had a bag full of stuff. $2.

4  Ikea highchair (simple, easy clean with no cracks or crevices. small/ not at all bulky), solid food feeding gear (snack cup, spoons, etc), a ton of never used nursing/milk storage items, never opened Ikea crib duvet.  $15

5 Clothes and burp clothes. $3.50

Story Two- Bryson's Take on Baby Food

On Thursday, work threw us a baby shower. I must first acknowledge how blessed we've been. Our coworkers spoiled us rotten!

Bryson came a little late, in the middle of the game, "Guess the baby food", where they took off the labels, and we can smell, even taste each jar to guess the contents. Bryson joined in on #5 (aka, squash). He examined the jar of slow moving, bright orange sludge very intently, not sure what to make of it. Then he opened the jar and took a big whiff. You should have seen the surprise and disgust on his face. He exclaimed, "They feed this to children! What kind of torture is this?!" 

This from the man who juices his veggies. 

Not only did he bring comedic relief to the intense "Guessing" game, but it was a good reminder that we both have a lot to learn as we become parents. And atleast we're in this together.
