Ice Storm

We were very blessed during this ice storm. The power went out for only 2 hours Tuesday morning, so no big deal. Both Bryson and Alyssa were able to stay home from work, so that made for a nice relaxing day- minus the fact Bryson still had to work via the internet.
------
Tuesday was also a very productive day for Alyssa. She was ambitious in the kitchen! Her masterpiece creations included: a new 'old-fashion' bread recipe - yellow curry with chicken, potatoes, carrots and rice - homemade pizza with a new dough recipe - and rice crispie treats. Whew! It was a lot of cooking, but it was bearable because each recipe was fairly easy! Alyssa's only bane of the day was waiting for hours and hours for the bread to rise! It kills her to be able to smell the yummyness, but have to let it rise for another 2 hours, and then another hour in the oven. Patience is a virtue she's always working on. :)

A few pictures we took during the week.
The above three show the detail of the ice sculptures. lol. Individual blades of grass were encased in the ice. I thought this made the grass look like coral from afar, especially as they're the brown-red color from dormancy.

The next few pictures are of the fun, and sometimes very long icicles.
)You may want to click on the pictures to see the icicles better)
